It is an organic race for Jingold SpA, the Italian company based in Romagna, highly specialized in production and distribution of yellow, green and red kiwifruit all over the world. In addition to the 60 hectares in Argentina, producing 100% organic kiwifruit for the Jingold brand in counter-season, the company is about to double the current 50 hectares of organic production in Italy (out of a total of 1,200) to reach 10% overall certified production quota, equal to over a thousand tons. This will happen within the next 3-4 years since starting from 2023 some of the plants currently in conversion will enter production. As confirmed by Patrizio Neri, president of Jingold SpA.
“We are implementing – explains Neri – an expansion and marketing plan that focuses heavily on organic in order to find the right placement in Italy and Europe. We want to increase production in Chile, South Africa and Portugal. In Argentina, where we have a local partner, it has been a work in progress for about three years. The goal is to reach 10% of organic production in 3-4 years”.
– Which is the yellow kiwifruit variety chosen for your organic production?
“It’s called Jinyan and we have been implemented it for about five years. It joins the conventional variety Jin Tao”. (m.l.)
