At the beginning of September, the Nomisma Research Institute presented a survey, conducted between July and August 2022, on a sample of 290 Italian organic food and wine companies.

It emerged that the main destinations in Europe for Italian organic food are Germany (indicated by 63% of the companies), followed by France (46%) and by Benelux (34%). For wine, the ranking is still led by the German market (67%), followed at a very short distance by the Scandinavian countries (61%) and by Benelux (59%).

Outside Union’s borders, the ranking of destination countries for Italian organic products, according to the Nomisma survey, is led for food by Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom, while Canada and Japan are also strategic for organic wines.

And what about the future? According to companies, the most promising countries for exports of Italian organic products in the next three years will be Germany (56%), Scandinavian countries (32%) and the United States (25%) for food; Scandinavian countries (58%), the United States and Canada for wine.
