Maria Grazia Mammuccini was re-elected president of FederBio on 20th July in Bologna. This is her second three-year mandate at the helm of the largest Italian organic association.  Maria Grazia Mammuccini produces organic wines in Tuscany. She announced that among the priorities of her mandate will be a strong commitment to foster a generational change within the Federation, enhancing the role of young people and further strengthening the female presence.

Concerning the Federation’s action, Mammuccini emphasised: “We aim to make organic the protagonist in the ecological transition of Italian agriculture. We are in a phase of change that involves the passage of organic farming from an agronomic method to an agricultural policy instrument”.

Her programme is based on the following aspects: supporting a significant and stable growth in the consumption of organic products made in Italy, pursuing a fair price policy, supporting the spread of biodistricts, supporting the economic and employment impact of the sector, strengthening the transparency of the system, developing adequate support services, offering technical consultancy and training, consolidating FederBio as unique platform of qualified services for Italian organisations and companies in the sector.

FederBio gathers almost the whole representation of the organic industry, including the main Italian players in organic production, distribution, certification, standardisation and protection of the interests of organic operators and technicians.
