Italy is the second Country in the world exporting organic products after United States. In 2020, sales on international markets reached 2 billion 619 million euros, 8% more than 2019, a greater growth compared to overall Italian agri-food exports, which stopped at +3.5%. Italian export of certain organic products, such as wine, has been growing in double digits for years now, and Italy became a world leader.

Behind all this operates an increasingly strong business network, which the pandemic has not weakened, and which also achieves good results in the domestic market: +7% sales, with e-commerce flying to +150%. However, the propensity to export is a very important feature of Italian organic production companies.

That is why Greenplanet arises from the desire to support Italian organic products anche exporters, encouraging their growth, through a specific information and promotion tool.
Today is the baptism of the new English edition with the first test, and from September there will be regular updates and a fortnightly newsletter, out on Thursday, mainly intended addressed to international buyers in different parts of the world, in the European Union and beyond. Our staff has worked for months to develop a selected database of buyers, which will be regularly updated.

We will write therefore about companies and products, about international markets, as well as about institutions and organizations that make sector policy. Let’s try to do it starting today with a promise: we will do it better and better.
